SAIC is seeking a high performing Business Development candidate with significant DoS experience.  The   role of Business Developer at SAIC is one of energy, strategy and leadership.   Business Developers are the forward members of the company engaged in understanding customer pain, identifying and building critical relationships, and prospecting for new and unpublished opportunities.   Business Developers are the leaders of sales, consistently working to introduce, identify and expand our presence as a company with a target agency.   Business Developers work closely with capture and account managers to develop and deliver an actionable account strategy informed by critical relationships and client perception.   Business Developers have the resources of the company at their disposal to protect, expand and grow business for SAIC.  The Business Developer will report jointly to the operations’ Vice President of State & Local Programs and the Vice President of Business Development.   


Required Qualifications

  • Experience with business development for:
    • System Integration
    • Engineering
    • Cloud solutions and migrations (IAAS, SAAS, PAAS)
    • Technology services
  • Experience qualifying opportunities based on client pain points
  • Experience developing customer understanding and insight to drive solution development and sales
  • Proven portfolio of wins across civilian, state and local government clients – and especially across DoS, USAID and/or Diplomatic Mission space
  • Demonstrated knowledge and broad network within the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Demonstrated background providing an understanding of sales, and the process of business development
    • Sales funnel predictive modeling

  • Bachelors and six (6) years or more of related experience; Masters and four (4) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience
  • MBA or MPA preferred with a financial or technical undergraduate degree.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Superior presentation and facilitation skills 
  • Sales training such as Shipley, Miller Heiman, Competitor, or similar
  • Must be US Citizen and able to attain a Secret security clearance
