SAIC is seeking a highly motivated Acquisition Engineer for a position in the Office of the GEOINT Chief Architect (OGCA) located in Chantilly, Virginia. This position requires an active Top Secret with SCI and Poly.  


OGCA is responsible for exploring solutions for the GEOINT architecture.  OGCA analyzes architectures to inform decision based on cost, risk and performance.  OGCA collaborates with NRO Directorates and Offices, Mission Partners, Intelligence Community, and the Department of Defense.  In conjunction with NGA through the GEOINT Futures Study Group, OGCA coordinates and conducts End-to-End capability studies. The successful candidate will have a degree in engineering, engineering management, physics, or imaging/remote sensing and a background in space systems, platforms and/or technology.


Key duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Planning and conducting exercises, simulations, and analyzing data on future systems

  • Coordinating, planning and executing major events with multi-disciplinary teams

  • Support DoD warfighting exercises and technology demonstrations, including any activities necessary for effective integration of GEOINT capabilities into exercises and demonstrations

  • Support program planning and execution of analytic studies that inform senior decision making processes and development of communication packages for use with internal and external senior Government officials

  • Provide subject matter expertise during evaluation of proposals, technical baseline documentation and analyses

  • Use analysis, simulation and modeling tools to inform studies, verify capabilities and evaluate architecture alternatives

  • Provide day-to-day support to Government Points of Contact to assure routine actions are addressed; provide recommendations/products that reflect the mission and technical capabilities of systems

  • Maintain connections with the user community to inform them on current and future systems and, in turn, provide feedback on valuable user needs

  • Plan visits with the user community to include overview briefing development, special topic discussions, gather system performance feedback and suggestion for mission improvement

  • Liaise with mission analysis, acquisition, and requirement teams to ensure accurate and consistent messaging to externals

  • Support technical and programmatic reviews and meetings, as required

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience



Required Qualifications:


  • BS degree in engineering, engineering management or related technical discipline

  • 15 years' experience in acquisition of systems or services, modeling & simulations, technical oversight and supporting Customers

  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast paced environment with excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated project management experience and thorough knowledge of NRO technical and business processes

  • TS/SCI with Poly- active


Desired Qualifications:


  • Master's degree in engineering, engineering management or related technical discipline

  • 10 years' experience in NRO acquisitions, modeling & simulations, technical oversight and supporting Customers

  • Ability to deliver effective briefings/presentations/paper on complex topics for audiences that may be large and/or include high-level decision makers
