SAIC is seeking a Buyer/Field Support Representative to join our team in our Guam office.   

JOB DUTIES:

  • Sales Representative to include customer site visits, services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales
  • Responsibilities include the development and negotiation of favorable prices, terms, schedules and other provisions of purchase orders and acquisition contracts, ensuring consistency with customer requirements and procurement policies/procedures.
  • Provide administrative and clerical support specifically related to supply chain and procurement department activities. Maintains files, logs, records of invoices, purchase orders and other related documentation. 
  • Develop and maintain resources for assigned commodity items. Prepares standard requests for quotation. Assignments may require initiative regarding pricing revisions, order cancellations, discontinued items, acceptable substitutes, delivery date revisions and invoice discrepancies. 
  • Maintains information on computer systems. Assists in expediting orders. Assist other buyers in contacting vendors to obtain prices and schedule delivery dates when working as a team for large purchases or on a proposal.
  • Closeout for all procurement related activities and supplier customer management, including negotiating price/cost and price/cost-related terms and other subcontract provision.   

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and four (4) years or more of related experience  or a BS Degree
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Solid communications skills, both written and oral. Ability to communicate across several levels of staff and customers/vendors
  • Strong team player
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
