SAIC is seeking desktop technicians to join our team in Livermore, CA.  The selected candidates will work independently providing support and troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of individual customer's computers including network connections, hardware, operating systems, and corporate applications (both commercial and in‑house developed) support; troubleshooting and repairing primarily Windows based operating systems, Windows configuration, Internet access, attachment to network printing, email and Microsoft Office consulting, and implementing security policies as required. Ability to provide training and technical guidance for fellow workers. 

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Associates Degree in related discipline and three (3) years; or high school and five (5) years' experience providing desktop support in Windows environment

  • Proven experience of having provided the highest quality of customer service in a fast-paced IT service environment

  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines on a variety of activities

  • Willingness to learn and continually upgrade technical skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills are required

  • Experience working in an IT service operation using ITIL best practices and experience managing ticket queue

  • Candidate must be able to meet DOE requirements to obtain a security clearance (DOE Q) but does not need an active clearance to start.

Desired Skills:
  • Strong experience in Windows system administration (desktop and server) and troubleshooting (system setup, account management, backup/restore, network printers, application installation and peripheral installations, etc.). 

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with other IT professionals outside of the work center are also required. 

  • Experience supporting Apple computers and IOS devices.

  • An active DOE L or Q clearance is desired.
