Description

SAIC is seeking a Senior Space Engineer to provide support to the Space Security and Defense Program (SSDP) Threat Assessment Division.  SSDP performs analysis, requirements development, threat assessments, and technical assessments to protect the National Security Space enterprise

 

Senior Space Engineer will analyze, identify, and articulate current and future vulnerabilities of foreign threat spacecraft, assess impacts, and develop options and recommend solutions leading to comprehensive non-kinetic capabilities to defeat threats. 

 

Furthermore, the position is expected to identify, analyze, and support specific intelligence reporting including world-wide advanced technology proliferation to include unique western satellite technology, anti-satellite (ASAT) weapon systems development and operations, denial & deception programs, network architectures and C2 systems supporting ASAT weapons, foreign plans and strategy regarding intentions to defeat or deny US National Technical programs (overhead collection and I&W systems), and threats to U.S. Government space-related networks to include those networks in the homeland.

 

Additional areas of effort and expertise include foreign use and reliance of US entities for components, materials, or information like FPGAs, big data, protocols, and data transmission equipment, encryption, network configurations, Research Institutes, OP/NAV linchpin analysis and all element of network infrastructure.  With proper security constraints, our SETA members support the development of representative networks that can emulate the structure and flow of network data for development of title 10 capabilities and effects. 

 

This position requires experience with specific subjects related to threat networks supporting spacecraft operations (i.e. orbit and ground support systems) including the following: penetration testing, data transmission equipment, military and commercial communication networks, all-band mobile communications, encryption, fiber optic, and space situational awareness support systems.

 

 

Qualifications

  • BS Degree with a minimum of 14+ years of experience related to spacecraft and ground support systems threat networks including weaponeering of non-kinetic effects. A Master’s Degree requires 12+ years and a PhD requires 9+ years.
  • Must have an active TS/SCI clearance and be willing to sit for a Polygraph


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in developing representative networks

  • Experience with other Title 10/Title 50 efforts in this area
