JOB DESCRIPTION: Supports the planning, scheduling, and execution of training programs or activities to support the Center for Surface Combat Systems (CSCS) for training programs, practices, and procedures for training personnel on ship systems including instrution and technical training in support of Aegis Combat system, Ship Self Defense System (SSDS), Tactical Data Links, and other systems that can be used in the ships Combat Information Center (CIC). Coordination includes supporting the Planning for courses and instruction, Analysis of target audiences and population and instructor requirements and assignments, developing and maintaining annual and event driven training scheduls, and reporting to PM and stakeholders for training coordination. Assignments may also include needs analysis, custom course development, development of criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of course objectives, and evaluation and learning assessments. May include analysis and responsibility for determining the communication and delivery of the course content and materials, and for developing learning activities and demonstrations. Monitors and evaluates training programs, assesses results, and implements enhancements as needed. Will evaluate and/or oversee contractors or vendors to develop and/or administer instructor-lead training programs.
1. Seven (7) years of Surface Warfare and Training Management including coordinating and administratering training utilizing technical training equipment, tactical and emulation based simulations and computer/web based courseware.
2. Five (5) of the above 7 years includes experience as an instructor in a Naval Training Environment including management of instructor qualifications and instructor task planning.TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and ten (10) years or more of related experience; Masters and eight (8) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and two (2) years or more experience
