SAIC is pursuing a ground-breaking opportunity in support of the U.S. Space Development Agency’s (SDA) acceleration in development and fielding of new military space capabilities. SAIC is looking for motivated, innovative, career and customer-oriented individuals to join our team in support of this space effort and provide SDA with architecture concepts, systems, technologies, and capabilities that enable futuristic improvements for U.S. space based capabilities. The ideal candidate will have an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness with the ability to apply and/or develop highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts in support of the SDA’s mission.

 
Responsibilities:
  • Be responsible for product design changes and the effects of the overall system

  • Assist in documenting and tracking all aspects of system development and modifications

  • Ensure configuration identification by reviewing design release documents for completeness and proper authorizations

  • Prepare deviations and waivers for government approval when specifications cannot be met

  • Review all issued document change requests, document change notices and associated drawings for accuracy, completeness and proper signatures

  • May structure and maintain databases

  • Submit engineering changes to customers for review and approval; maintains records and submit reports regarding status

  • Prepare configuration verification audit record sheets for all programs


Qualifications

Skills and Experience:

  • Provide thought leadership and innovative solution design addressing the SDA mission

  • Strong understanding of Configuration Management

  • Ability to create and manage a documentation management system where little current infrastructure exist

  • Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience

  • Proven pioneer in space related capabilities or innovation experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

  • Proven ability to interact effectively with colleagues

  • Excellent written and oral (briefing) communication skills

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

  • Understanding of PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system and build where one does not exist

  • Successfully interface with corporate ERP/MRP system and be liaison for new Business unit to corporate functional organization

  • Strong understanding of planning and program execution

  • Ability to take on and develop multiple roles within a new business unit.  Including CM, Planning, supplier management, cost control, subcontract and prime contract management, SDRL, CDRL management

  • Strong understanding of multiple system engineering and program management execution tools such as SharePoint, Doors, Cameo, etc.

  • Ability to assess current PLM systems and evaluate for selection

  • Capable of working in small team

  • Takes initiative and communicates within team structure
