Description

SAIC is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in RF Payload Design and Operations for a Customer Systems Program Office (SPO). The position will be located in Chantilly, VA and requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph.


The SPO will field multiple, short time-to-market space systems. 


In this role, you will interact and coordinate daily with numerous stakeholders (senior acquisition leadership, Program Managers, Technical Leads, and external organizations). Daily and weekly participation in systems engineering processes will be required to include risk management, requirement verification, and other program decision forums. 

 
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide expertise in space application of RF signals and technologies and SIGINT payload design
  • Provide expertise in satellite systems used signals intelligence collection for satellite systems
  • Perform on orbit at test planning, execution, and data distribution; collaborate with development contractors to plan and execute spacecraft payload testing
  • Participate in working groups and forums required for marketing test opportunities for RF payloads to external stakeholders
  • Facilitate necessary program office requirements and inputs into enterprise change control boards and other processes required to integrate mission operations
  • Outline criteria for successful test results
  • Work independently and communicate regularly with program office customers

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph 
  • BS Degree - STEM or Systems Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience in spacecraft activation and mission operations for multiple spacecraft programs
  • 10+ years space systems experience
  • Familiar with  spacecraft operations and mission operations centers
  • Systems engineering leadership experience, including understanding of risk management and requirements management for space systems
  • Organizational Conflict of Interest (OCI) free, capable of providing technical and acquisition support to Government
 
Desired Qualifications: 
  • MS Degree – STEM
  • 14+ years of experience in technical program management and systems engineering
  • 14+ years space systems experience
