SAIC is seeking a Senior Engineer with expertise in DoD Systems including electronic warfare, radar, and communications to join our team of qualified, diverse, and highly motivated individuals supporting the Office of the Under Secretary  of Defense, Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)). Support the OUSD(R&E) Director of Joint Warfighting Architectures as principal technical liaison to all Joint Staff and Combatant Command components, and to key organizations such as the Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations Cross-Functional Team and Advanced Electronic Warfare Capabilities (AEWC) Demonstration Program. Work will be performed primarily at the Pentagon in Arlington VA, the Mark Center in Alexandria VA, and local company offices.  Travel will be required, less than 15% of the time, predominantly within the continental United States.

 

Primary responsibilities include supporting the Director with:

  • Establishing the technological foundation for product development and advanced capabilities related to various elements associated with strategic, operational, and tactical kill chains.
  • Developing platforms, sensors, weapons, and fire control systems designed for highly contested environments, with emphasis on Electronic Warfare, Fires, Command and Control, and Information Advantage.
  • Providing technical executive oversight of all sensing and communications product development, with liaison responsibilities to OUSD Acquisition and Sustainment (A&S).
  • Aligning technology to capability areas such as radar, electromagnetic spectrum operations (to include cyber and electromagnetic warfare), signals intelligence, LIDAR, electro-optical, infrared, hyperspectral, quantum, and multifunction systems.
  • Coordinating software development and demonstration activities designed to accelerate transition of capabilities to the Services and Combatant Commands.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to take a polygraph
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering and fourteen (14) years of experience, Masters and twelve (12) years of experience 
  • Seven years of experience with electronic warfare, radar, or military communications in aerial, space, or surface applications
  • Expertise in detailed mission analysis to be conducted against proposed concepts and iterated rapidly
  • Capable of adapting to continuously evolving environments and requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
  • Active polygraph
  • Master’s degree in appropriate engineering discipline or related science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) field
  • Expertise in coordinating Joint programs and operations, including liaison with each Service independently and in community settings, and interfacing with the Joint Staff and Combatant Commands
  • Fifteen years of experience with electronic warfare, radar, or military communications in aerial, space, or surface applications
