SAIC is seeking a systems engineer to join our team of diverse GPS Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) team. The GPS SE&I Team provides specialized engineering, analysis, operations support, and subject matter expertise to the SMC/GP Directorate and other GPS customers. The team also provides systems engineering and analysis services to include system development, enterprise and system architecture, acquisition, testing, operations, and sustainment support for existing and new capabilities.    

Major duties of the position include:

  • Development of integrated SE&I dataset.  Manage ongoing processing of client data feeds into their respective managed data environments. Develop stored procedures that conform to specific outputs and performance requirements to support real time delivery of data for report, analytical, and operational needs.
  • Writing Visual Basic code to support the integration of Microsoft SharePoint data with custom Word, Excel, and PowerPoint reports.  Drafting code to support the SE&I team’s requirements for unique custom reports.
  • Work with the team to define product requirements and create high-level architectural specifications, ensuring feasibility, functionality, and integration with existing systems/platforms. Drafting software documentation to document the suite of existing and new coding.
  • Research, propose, and develop new features for both new and existing databases. Proposing new SE&I process improvement and providing new automation of these improvements.
  • Participate in code review and standards development. Become a subject matter expert on the databases and core applications that comprise the Element platform and support development of study plans for architecture development and special trade studies
  • Developing acquisition-related briefings, plans, papers, and other documentation in support of SMC/GP decision making. Collaborating with prime contractors, other support contractors, government civilians, and members of the U.S. Air Force.


Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics, or similar.
  • 9+ years’ experience in developing databases in MS Access, MySQL, MS SGL Server.  Can demonstrate knowledge in our practical skill assessment during the interview process.
  • Visual Basic scripting experience.  MS SharePoint development experience
