Description
SAIC is pursuing a ground-breaking opportunity in support of the U.S. Space Development Agency’s (SDA) acceleration in development and fielding of new military space capabilities. SAIC is looking for motivated, innovative, career and customer-oriented individuals to join our team in support of this space effort and provide SDA with architecture concepts, systems, technologies, and capabilities that enable futuristic improvements for U.S. space based capabilities. The ideal candidate will have an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness with the ability to apply and/or develop highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts in support of the SDA’s mission.
The candidate for this position will support the entire SAIC effort in support of SDA, which includes, but is not limited to:
Distill customer requirements into actionable development objectives
Work with external and internal stakeholders to generate requirements documentation and specifications. Maintain these documents through their lifetime
Collaborate with subsystem representatives across team boundaries to consider all necessary trades and ensure end-to-end mission success
Assist with Ground Segment architecture and design, including software and hardware architectures
Plan for and execute the build-out of accredited and operational systems and facilities supporting space vehicle operations globally
Assist with the creation and maintenance of project master schedules and regularly report modifications to customers
The candidate will be responsible for these specific duties:
High-fidelity, real-time testing using hardware and software components
Hardware-in-the-loop simulations
Space vehicle to ground systems integration laboratory
Qualifications
Provide thought leadership and innovative solution design addressing the SDA mission
Proven pioneer in space related capabilities or innovation experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate technical discipline from a recognized institution and fifteen (15) years or more of related experience
Professional experience working with ground systems for launch or space vehicles
Prior experience working on government programs
3+ years of experience working hands-on with hardware or software technical projects
2+ years of systems-level engineering experience
2+ years of technical project management experience
Proven ability to interact effectively with colleagues
Excellent written and oral (briefing) communication skills
Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
Demonstrated ability to work well independently and in teams
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
