SAIC is seeking a Deputy Project Lead to support the NASA’s Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) at Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) on the Omnibus Multidisciplinary Engineering Support Services (OMES) II contract, a multi-discipline engineering effort in Lanham, MD.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Deputy Project Lead will provide program management and administrative support to SAIC and the various JPSS program offices. The Deputy Project Lead will report to the JPSS Project Lead and will be responsible for the programmatic maintenance of task orders including customer reporting, proposal writing, and tracking of workforce, budget, subcontracts, schedule, deliverables, and risks.

 

Job duties include:

  • Responsible for the management of each assigned task order including customer reporting, proposal writing, and tracking of workforce, budget, subcontracts, schedule, deliverables, and risks.
  • Supports the project lead with task order administration, subcontractor management, and in resolving day-to-day issues.
  • Drafts proposals for task order modifications including the approval of task order directives, the review and approval of subcontractor proposals, establishment of the workforce plan, and writing of the task plan. Submits proposal to project lead for review and approval before submission to the government.
  • Tracks, manages, and reports on technical, schedule, programmatic, contractual, and budgetary risks.
  • Tracks, manages, and reports on technical and programmatic milestones and deliverables.
  • Provides tracking and scheduling support to the Project Lead for staffing and hiring.
  • Meets regularly with the customer to present deliverables and status milestones, budget, and risks.
  • Tracks project financials and uses technical knowledge of project to draft spending projections.
  • Approves procurements and invoices.
  • Manages subcontractors and subcontractor documentation.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • B.S. with 10+ years of related experience.
  • Very strong attention to detail and record-keeping abilities.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to professionally interact with customers, subcontractors, engineers, and management.
  • Leadership ability and willingness to grow into a leadership/supervisory role.
  • Proficiency in resolving programmatic issues in order to ensure that customer needs and deliverables are met completely and on-schedule.
  • Ability to assess complex issues, recommend resolution to the team and management, and implement resolutions.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with NASA financial documentation and procedures (document 533).
  • Experience with JPSS.
