Job Description


Job Description: Performs qualitative and quantitative analyses, including, but not limited to, project planning and execution, life cycle acquisition planning and management, risk analysis and mitigation plan development. Also requires experience in complex programs. Requires knowledge of contractor earned value performance reporting and analysis in order to classify and summarize data for the preparation and submission of earned value management reporting. Demonstrated experience with work breakdown structures, cost accounting principles/financial models, schedule development and analysis, and technical performance measurement is required. Experience tracking and archiving UAS Certifications of Authorization is desired.


Strong technical skills in aviation, flight experience - UAS specific flight experience preferable, familiar with FAA regulations, most notably 49USC part 91 and part 107 as they relate to UAS. Understand the difference between civil, commercial, and public aircraft operations. Familiar with UAS systems, capabilities and emerging technologies. Possess. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to lead, guide and work with groups across lines of business that include federal and contract resources. Knowledge of UAS, including technology, operations, regulations, applications.  Must be able to perform research on aspects of UAS to respond to inquiries.


Duties/Skills: Provide regulatory review, safety, and aviation technical support to the FAA’s Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Integration Office Partnership for Safety Programs (PSP). Highly proficient in Microsoft 2010 Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  Effective writing skills to include correct word choice, construction of clear sentence structure and flow, knowledge of rules of grammar and ability to concisely convey message.  Ability to identify program needs and initiate solutions, high level of discretion and judgment , effective time management, ability to multi-task and prioritize work and quickly adapt to change with accuracy. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as work independently. Experience involving completion of special non recurrent and ongoing projects, proven ability to work in a fast paced environment and outcome oriented.

  • Familiar with FAA regulations, most notably 14CFR part 107
  • Familiar with UAS systems, capabilities and emerging technologies
  • Suggest improvements to current work processes and to continually improve one’s knowledge of drone operations and regulations.
  • Adaptability when required to take on additional tasks as required (e.g., data analysis, documentation writing, giving presentations).
  • Willing to adapt to new assignments if they become available

Job Qualifications: Master’s degree in related technical or management discipline and 5 years’ experience in the above duties. Master’s degree may be waived with 10 years’ experience in performing the above duties and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or other related field.

US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance

Required clearance is an SF-85P completed on site by the FAA.
