Description
JOB DESCRIPTION: SAIC is looking for a well-qualified Network Engineer to join an exciting program in Springfield, Virginia. Your job responsibilities will include supporting the customer’s Networking and Communications Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team to provide consulting services, subject matter expertise (SME), engineering services, mentorship, on-the-job training, and operational support towards designing, deploying, and operating business critical enterprise and data center network environments across a global Wide Area Network (WAN). You will serve as the highest internal escalation tier for the Networking O&M team providing advanced troubleshooting support and guidance to rapidly assess and remediate challenges that arise in the networking arena. You will be responsible for all networking-related technologies (systems, applications, and services) using Cisco, Juniper, and Riverbed based technologies. Travel is required – 5 per cent – to support critical business needs.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more of relevant experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more of relevant experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more of relevant experience.
An active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for access to sensitive compartmented information (TS/SCI);
The ability to complete a counter-intelligence scope polygraph (CSP);
One of the following certifications:
o The CompTIA Security+CE certification,
o The Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) Security Essentials Certification (GSEC); or
o The International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium, Inc. (ISC2) Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP); and
Must be a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Routing and Switching or CCNP Data Center certified.
