Description
SAIC is seeking a Software Test Engineer to support efforts in Huntsville, AL.
SAIC is supporting the Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering and Integration Directorate (S3I) in continuation of the Improved Data Modem (IDM) sustainment and development. The IDM is a communication device for the Army rotorcraft digital fleet. It is an Airworthy hardware and software system. The S3I is supporting software sustainment for fielded IDM systems and an update to transition to the Aviation Mission Common Server multi-core implementation of IDM. A Software Engineer is needed to support complete software lifecycle development and sustainment activities for the AMCS Operational Environment (OE).
Support complete software development lifecycle for testing of the AMCS OE
Perform Systems and Software Integration
Produce software test documentation for inclusion in an STP and STD sufficient to support airworthiness certification
Analyze system, software, and hardware specifications and interface documents to support transition of IDM to AMCS.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering
2+ years or more applicable experience
Software development using C/C++
Familiarity with an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) such as Microsoft Visual Studio
Full Software Development Lifecycle to include developing software component design, implementation, and unit test artifacts
Less than 10% Travel should be expected
Embedded systems software test
Highly desired, previous knowledge of IDM system or software
Experience with configuration management tools such as Subversion, GIT, JIRA and Bitbucket
Knowledge of Real Time Operating System (RTOS) experience
Knowledge of defense systems and communication protocols: MIL-STD-1553, MIL-STD-6017, MIL-STD-188-220, MIL-STD-2045-47001 a plus
Network experience including TCP, UDP and Multicast protocols
Clearance Requirement: Must possess an active secret clearance
