SAIC, a Government Contractor, has an immediate opportunity available for a PMP certified and experienced information technology Project Scheduler Specialist with significant project planning and Integrated Master Scheduling (IMS) experience and excellent communication and customer service skills.
Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Project Scheduling Specialist will be responsible for supporting the scheduling of individual projects and incorporating them into the overall Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for US Central Command. The successful candidate's core responsibilities will include, but not to be limited to:
Providing excellent customer service involving attention to detail, and prompt communication with all stakeholders, including project resources, project management team members, direct supervisor, and the DoD client.
Providing hands-on MS Project 2013/16 project planning, scheduling, and oversight for a variety of IT projects and activities for US Central Command J6 Communications Directorate.
Tracking project plans and schedules, performing and supporting risk analysis, identifying and resolving critical path and schedule logic conflicts.
Maintain, analyze, and brief Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) in sufficient detail to assess both portfolio and project status, identify performance issues, and resource constraints in a timely manner. Communicate schedule impacts, resource constraints and propose corrective actions to applicable stakeholders and senior decision makers. Develop recovery plans to ensure project milestones are completed in accordance with the project requirements.
Baselining initial schedules in MS Project 2013/16, upload into the existing MS Project 2013 environment, and maintain schedules by monitoring and updating progress and approved schedule changes throughout the lifecycle of the projects. Integrate individual project schedules into aligned portfolio integrated master schedules.
Soliciting input from stakeholders (internal and DoD) to identify tasks, durations, and resources to be included and updated in the schedule/IMS.
Providing scheduling support to technical subject matter experts in project efforts; ensuring schedules, and quality requirements are met; and assisting with resource management, task management, etc.
Designing and executing Microsoft Project Server 2013/16 reports for stakeholders, as requested.
Contribute to the Project Planning and scheduling team by creating, improving and documenting processes that can streamline the team's scheduling operation while improving the stakeholders' access to critical information in the scheduling system.
Serve as a lead contributor in planning the daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly tasks for the team's Project Management team.
Mentoring, and training project management team members in the MS Project Server platform, with the MS Project 2013/16 application and the supporting work required to sustain the scheduling lifecycle and maintain its operation.
Required Skills and Certifications:
Bachelor's Degree and 9+ years of experience; OR, High School equivalent and 13+ years of experience.
7 years' experience in Program Planning and Scheduling
4 years' hands-on experience using MS Project (MS Project Server) or similar scheduling application
Secret clearance with ability to secure a Top Secret clearance.
Active PMP Certification
ITIL V3 certification
Lean Six Sigma and/or Project Quality Assurance background
AGILE and or Scrum Master experience
Project Risk Management experience
Experience working on Defense Acquisition programs
