Job Description


SAIC is looking for a part-time, DevSecOps/Cyber Instructor who has a passion for innovation and revolutionizing business practices to join our cross-functional team of facilitators, instructional designers, and subject matter experts, in transforming people, processes, and tools within the DoD environment through the application of DevSecOps (DSO). Initially, the selected candidate will facilitate instruction every six (6) weeks, and as needed thereafter; however, frequency is subject to increase. A typical course will be one week (40 hours) in duration including travel and instruction time. The candidate must be willing to travel. Classes will occur across the U.S. at or near U.S Government facilities. There is no requirement for the candidate to work at a SAIC or customer facility. The candidate will work from home during preparation and travel for course delivery.

  • Instruct learners on services, procedures, processes, techniques, tactics, products, and skills development.  Course delivery typically includes a variety of formats such as lecture, lab exercises, field training, Computer-Based Training (CBT), and Web-Based Training (WBT)

  • Collaborate with customer or internal functional organization to develop, enhance, and evaluate new or existing learning objectives and course content

  • Assess or test learners on learning objectives
  • Participate in course definition and development, but the primary focus is course delivery

  • Monitor and evaluate training programs, assess results, and implement enhancements as needed.  Complete post-training follow up to determine applicability of course material and training approaches.

  • Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts

  • Use a variety of training methodologies and concepts for maximum impact

  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology
  • Participate in special projects as required


  • Bachelor’s degree and fifteen (15) years or more of related experience; Master’s and thirteen (13) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.

  • Experience supporting a DevOps environment using a Cloud construct as well as employing Agile development techniques

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices
  • Proven experience instructing adult learners in a technical environment/setting

  • Excellent communication skills for frequent interaction with all levels of executive leadership and learners 

Desired Qualifications:
  • User of Agile Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Confluence etc.)
  • Experience with DevOps and continuous integration and deployment tools

  • Certifications in the following areas: DevOps, DevSecOps, ITIL, Cybersecurity, SAFe, Project Management

  • Training in the following areas: Instructional Systems Design and Instruction
