Job Description


Great leadership position supporting the Nation’s new Space Force.  SAIC is seeking a Deputy Program Manager for the Engineering, Development, Integration, and Sustainment (EDIS) program.  This position is to support the Space and Missile Systems Center Advanced Systems & Development Directorate (SMC/ AD) to develop, deploy, modernize, and expand the EDIS program and its customers. This includes a wide range of space operations from  testing leading edge classified technology satellites, to challenging upgrades to legacy systems all if which contribute to Space Force’s emerging mission.  The position is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico and relocation costs are negotiable for highly qualified candidates. New contract with seven year PoP and position is immediately available.


The candidate selected for this position will:

  • Provide management, control, planning, and scheduling for task orders
  • Interface with customer for all program matters, information and insight sharing, and problem resolution. Provide program manager with strategic guidance and insights necessary for directing the program.
  • Manage risk, customer relationships, and program staffing.  Provides input on compensation-related actions, and staffing and hiring recommendations. Assists in screening and interviewing potential hires and manage program management office staff and mission engagement leads including subcontractors or suppliers
  • Manage and integrate activities in accordance with contract requirements and ensure technical, schedule, cost, and financial performance.  Provides key input and direction in planning, developing and implementing the program. 
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards. 
  • Support task order responses and contributes to a strategic BD plan to protect current program and expand account offerings.


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline with 14+ years of experience with 3 years current (during the past 5 years) managing a program of at least 100 FTE.
  • Active Top Secret clearance and be eligible for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience designing, building, integrating and operating Satellite Ground Support Equipment. 
  • Must have program management experience managing contracts larger than $25 Million and possess current PMP certification
  • Proven experience with EVM techniques and achievements implementing new technologies and innovations for a government contract.
  • Must have proven experiencing creating Scope, Cost and Schedule Baselines
  • Must have experience managing multiple projects concurrently with different customers and experience presenting to company executives and senior customer leadership
