SAIC is looking for a Remote Software Engineer Lead in support of the High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP) Integrated Technical Services (HITS) task order contract, while working from home providing support for the team based out of Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio.


This is a remote / work from home / virtual position.

In support of the High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP) Integrated Technical Services (HITS) task order contract, Team SAIC provides program management and technical support necessary to advance the services, capabilities, infrastructure, and technologies in the HPCMP, Department of Defense (DoD) Supercomputing Resource Centers (DSRC) supercomputing centers. Team SAIC is looking for a software manager/development lead who will provide leadership and guidance to a team of approximately 15 people.  In their role, they will be responsible for providing oversight and strategic focus to develop, sustain, upgrade, and sunset user facing and infrastructure SW tools and solutions across the 4 CONUS DSRCs.  This will include:

  • Establishing development and sustainment practices for each application area based on DevSecOps principles as applied to a DoD Secure Application Development environment, while maintaining a consistent development strategy across all areas

  • Selecting and leading the deployment of tools to facilitate DevSecOps development practices and provide a consistent platform for all activities

  • Coordinating with the customer to identify, prioritize, and select software projects

  • Championing large- and small-scale projects to implement, update, and sustain infrastructure software capabilities in the HPCMP, mentoring development team leads as needed to accomplish project objectives

  • Mentoring the leads of the application area teams, providing advice and recommendations for personal and team development activities




  • Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience; High School diploma and eighteen (18) years or more related experience
  • Experience leading SW development efforts across a distributed/virtual team with multiple concurrent projects
  • Experience with DevSecOps, Agile, and waterfall methodologies
  • Excellent problem solving and debugging skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop innovative solutions that leverage resources and meet customer needs effectively.
  • Excellent customer interaction skills including written and verbal communication
  • Team oriented individual capable of multi-tasking in a dynamic, demanding environment.
  • Organizational skills to balance and prioritize work in a dynamic work environment, and persistence to follow-through on tasks in the face of obstacles.



  • Must currently possess a secret clearance



  • PMP and/or Agile Certification is a plus but not required

    Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing project demands

  • Experience using Project Management Institute (PMI) project management principles and practices


  • May require occasional travel (20%)
