Duties include, but are not limited to, developing and implementing quality methodologies to ensure compliance with quality assurance standards, guidelines, and procedures. Ensures compliance with Software Engineering Institute Capability Maturity Model (ICMM) guidelines. Work experience must include planning, implementing, and testing QA activities.

Provide FAA support for the Information Systems Security Certification (ISSC) Team in providing security authorization/information security continuous monitoring (ISCM) support services within the Decision Support Systems (DSS) and En Route Second Level Engineering program offices. This includes the sustainment of hardware, software, and communications equipment managed by these organizations.

Candidate must support all aspects of systems engineering QA involving the design & development, testing, installation, implementation, integration and transition of systems, components and equipment as required by the FAA.

The candidate must support all aspects of Information Systems Security (INFOSEC) QA in the ATO involving activities associated with developing solutions to prevent NAS and other FAA/DOT systems from unauthorized access or sabotage, and the stability of the system to survive a security threat in the operational environment. The person must support the QA effort to protect proprietary information to which the government and its users have access. Ideal candidate will have QA experience with: 1) Identification of threats; 2) Performance of risk and vulnerability assessments; 3) Risk analyses and risk mitigation recommendations; 4) Incident detection and remediation; 5) Testing of proposed and applicable security solutions; 6) Development of security policies and requirements; 7) Review of INFOSEC documentation; 8) Development of Security Certification and Authorization Packages (SCAPs).

The candidate needs to support the assessment and monitoring of information system vulnerabilities and facilitate remediation activities from a QA perspective.  Also, the candidate needs to develop status QA reports and other documents to support management of the security authorization/ISCM and POA&M remediation processes. 


Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. The candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills.

Software Requirements: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word – strong knowledge of Word including document formatting with headers levels and table of contents; creation of tables; document review functions. Microsoft PowerPoint – working knowledge of power point and master slide features.  Microsoft Excel – working knowledge of spread sheets and basic Excel functions.  Knowledge of SharePoint, AdobeConnect, & Microsoft Project (preferred).


Job Qualifications:

4 Year Technical Degree in related technical discipline and 5 years of experience in the above duties, or a Masters and 2 years of related experience.


Additional Notes: Required clearance is an SF-85P completed on site by the FAA.  Contingent on customer approval.

US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
