Description

The Lean Agile Portfolio Manager will provide design and oversight to portfolio level value-driven governance for SAFe Agile product deliveries. The position will play a crucial role in implementing new processes so that all Information Technology portfolio investments are aligned to the business strategy and meet short/long term business needs and value expectations. This person will also drive Portfolio-level Information Delivery and provide Value Risk Oversight by partnering with the customer, Product Managers and Release Train Engineers to define, analyze, and report out on portfolio-level risks, metrics, and information related to value delivery.

 

 

Responsibilities:


· Portfolio Value Alignment & Agile Governance

· Govern portfolio efforts in a Scaled Agile environment

· Partner with customer to align lean business cases, linking business benefits to IT investments for funding and allocation requests

· Ensure Scaled Agile governance processes and decisions are applied consistently

· Oversee the creation and review of key metrics, outcomes, and reporting related to milestones and objectives

· Design and build dashboards based on stakeholder input at the Portfolio, Product and Team levels

· Assess and Report the health of product deliveries with objectivity, accuracy, and transparency

· Implement and monitor Agile KPIs to ensure benefits are being realized from the adoption of agile practices (increase time to market, increased productivity, higher quality, increased employee satisfaction).

· Ensure that appropriate stakeholders are engaged in risk identification and mitigation

· Predict and identify risks/opportunities from interdependencies of product deliveries

· Utilize an Agile approach to foster continued learning and a fast feedback loop; encourage experimentation

 

 

 

 

Desired Qualities:

 

 

 

· Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with diverse leaders

· Proven experience managing effective governance in the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and/or other agile methodology framework

· Experience overseeing enterprise and large budget initiatives

· Able to communicate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences

· Strong ability to analyze data and present it in a way that tells a story

· Comfortable with ambiguity, can handle the unexpected with flexibility

· Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.

· Ability to work with a collaborative approach and build trust with others

· Comfortable working in a matrixed organization

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

Education:

 

 

 

· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field

· Agile and/or Portfolio Certification or progress toward certification is highly preferred and encouraged.

· Certified Scrum Master (minimum), SAFe Agilist (preferred)

 

 

 

 

 

 

Skills Required:

 

· 15+ years of experience in managing multiple information systems projects

· 5+ years of experience in an agile / scrum environment with a demonstrated appreciation for large enterprise standards

· Well versed with Scaled Agile Framework's Lean Portfolio Management methodology

· Proficient knowledge of Agile/DevOps/Program Mgmt. Lifecycle methodologies and standards

· Excellent written and verbal communication and analytical skills

· Experience working in a geographically distributed work-group

· Knowledge and experience using ServiceNow, Jira, MS Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Visio

 

 

 

 

 

 

Skills Preferred:

 

· Lean certification preferred

· Experience working in a mature Agile environment and familiarity with SAFe concepts and metrics
