SAIC has an immediate need for an Event Operations Manager to support the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center (MDIOC) on Schriever Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO.  This position will act as the Event Operations Manager for the Indicium Communications Engineering and Security (ICES) organization. The successful candidate will support the current and evolving Strategic Systems Engineering Services (SSES) efforts for the Systems Simulation, Software and Integration Directorate (S3I) Customer.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • In conjunction with the Network Operations Manager, maintaining joint supervision of a team of network engineers and mission engineers whose focus is to create solutions for Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) test event support requirements, plan the team’s support for BMDS test events, and deploy to various locations across the globe to implement these solutions
  • Acting as the POC involved with BMDS test events, to include government civilians, military personnel, and contractor personnel
  • Serving as the lead for the collection and refinement of support requirements for multiple simultaneous BMDS test events
  • Ensuring all support requirements for each BMDS test event are faithfully implemented and status is given to requirement owners during implementation
  • Ensuring all event artifacts are created in a timely and accurate manner for each supported BMDS test event
  • Supervising the creation and maintenance of funding ROMs for each supported BMDS test event
  • Providing BMDS systems engineering expertise in support of the ICES Chief Engineer and ICES Program Manager
  • Acting as an integrator between multidisciplinary groups of engineers to help fulfill event support requirements
  • Provide insight and assist with steering the direction of the future for the organization’s test support capabilities 

Qualifications

Required Education:
  • BS degree and 9+ years of experience; four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.
Required Skills:
  • Experience with BMDS and/or Systems Engineering
  • Understanding of MDA test program experience
  • Demonstrated experience in using MS Office suite products
  • Demonstrated experience in the briefing of technical material to a varied audience 
Clearance:  Must have an active Secret Security Clearance
 
Desired Skills: 
  • Experience with MDA Ground Test program
  • Experience with MDA Flight Test program
  • Experience with MDA Exercise program
  • Knowledge of MDA hierarchy and leadership structure
  • Availability to work infrequent nights or weekends
  • Availability to travel infrequently for one week or less at a time
  • Security+ CE Certification
  • Experience with Cybersecurity/Information Assurance concepts
  • Network engineering experience, especially with Cisco products
  • Communications engineering experience (WAN, SATCOM, Unified)
