The Missile Defense Modeling and Simulation team at SAIC is seeking an experienced senior level scientist/engineer to provide subject matter expertise (SME) in radars and/or electronic warfare (EW).
The candidate must have professional experience with analytic methods and tools in applied mathematics, data modeling, or probability and statistics. Should be able to conceptualize engineering models of radars and radar-like systems, and characterize those engineering models through descriptive, parametric, and simulation terminology. Must be able to perform detailed and complex calculations and knowledge of practices and principles necessary to assess advanced radar systems concepts, specifications, capabilities, and missile defense integration. Must have a working knowledge of the weapons, platforms, and non-radar electronic systems that are associated with systems in the missile defense community.
Typical tasks may include utilizing subject matter expertise to improve existing tools and algorithms, functional modeling, signature reduction assessments, radar system capability analysis, Electronic Warfare analysis, or detailed analysis of aerospace electronic subsystems. Develop mathematical models to test new concepts in simulation environments. Identify ongoing and future technology trends relevant to the field of adversarial examples.
SAIC's has been a leader supporting the IAMD community for more than thirty years, beginning with the engineering behind President Reagan's vision of the Strategic Defense Initiative for ballistic missile defense and the OSD/USAF Air Defense Initiative. SAIC's involvement in IAMD covers performance analysis, technology recommendations, advanced sensor concepts, emerging architecture evaluation, and systems engineering/integration. SAIC's M&S tools span the spectrum from very high fidelity engineering tools to perform component assessments to force-on-force level simulations to examine architecture level performance. Our engineering support to the IAMD community includes MDA, JIAMDO, OSD, Services, CoComs, STRATCOM, and DARPA. Today we are integral members of the team defining and testing the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS).
·Master's/ PhD in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, or other relevant technical field
·Technical background in radar/EW modeling and simulation
·Ability to use a high level programming language to enhance analysis capabilities
·15 years experience in RF/Radar sensors, missiles/interceptors, threats, discrimination, detection/tracking or Command and Control (C3I, C4I)
Security Clearance Requirements:
·Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance is required
