Senior Network Analyst Principal

Key Role

Manage the operations, processes and reporting for the Network Services team including a review of monitoring and management tools, documentation and standards, network health, incident alerting and incremental reporting and presentations.  Work closely with the Network Services Director to coordinate operational resource allocation, manage ticket queues, report on ticketing and resource trends and present this data in a high level executive format.  Understand how Service Now is configured and how the Network Services track fits into the ITSM structure.  Assist with creating and managing processes around service requests, change control, approvals, alerting, incident creation and response and incident escalation.  Work closely with the Network Services Director to create the standards and operational documentation, including review of the runbook and process documentation.  Report regular status of projects and operational issues to the team.

This Role Performs:

  • Operational process documentation, planning, modification and maintenance
  • Evaluation of existing process documentation and assist with creation of ongoing SOP's
  • Working with the ITSM team to maintain and update service definitions within the CMDB CI structure
  • Build Process around service requests, incidents and projects
  • Build reports that will auto generate at regular intervals to show current status of ticketing queues, aging tickets, SLA violations, work load, etc.
  • Validate existing standards, documents and diagrams with the assistance of the lead engineers
  • Prepare status and system health reports for Managed Service clients by working with differing internal and external teams
  • Attend regular customer service meetings delivering service reports in line with contractual obligations
  • Maintain technical expertise in IT Service Management as well as a high level understanding of network and security technologies 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree and 9 years of relevant work experience required. May accept an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree. 
  • 5 years of ITIL Service Delivery experience required
  • Minimum 3 year of Operations experience in a 24x7x365 environment required
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal communications and complex problem solving, advanced written and verbal communications skills including the ability to develop presentations and present to senior management
  • Detailed working knowledge of network technologies and services
  • Conceptual knowledge for all other areas of IT Infrastructure (server, storage, application, cloud, security hardware and software)

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree required
  • ITIL® V3 Foundation Level or higher certification
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • Energetic, forward-thinking, and creative
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Extensive experience of customer and supplier relationships
  • Ability to develop and execute multiple priorities and approaches to meet objectives
  • Experience creating and presenting project plans and designs
