SAIC is searching for a HPC System Integrator to join our team at Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio !

As a leader in the exciting and growing field of High Performance Computing (HPC), SAIC is searching for a System Integrator to join our team supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) High Performance Computing Modernization Program (DoD HPCMP) located at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, OH.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The successful candidate will be a member of the Advanced Technologies Team (ATT) focused on the design, maintenance, and implementation of leading-edge technology solutions for the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) DoD Supercomputing Resource Center (DSRC). As part of the team, there will be customer engagement to develop system requirements, documentation to include whitepaper assessments, and hardware/software procurement. In addition to being a member of the ATT, the successful candidate may also participate as a team member in support of larger program-wide technology activities.

Additional duties include:

  • Assist with transition planning, gathering/developing requirements, migration plans/schedules and developing and maintain system architecture baselines.

  • Monitor the on-boarding activities for products/programs/projects/services from initiation through delivery, interfacing with the team and customers, as needed.

  • Assist site leadership, project managers and system architects in developing program and acquisition documentation, creating program schedules, tracking program status, evaluating operational and technical alternatives, performing risk assessment and managing integrated product teams.

  • Advising on selection of technological purchases with regards to processing, data storage, data access, applications development, and systems

  • Coordinating development efforts across multiple organizations

  • Assist with establishing and documenting requirements, design specifications, timelines, and integration path for project

  • Soliciting, collecting, and evaluating vendor proposals

  • Providing and exercising comparative selection criteria for new technology selection

  • Developing and implementing integration plans for new technology components

  • Organizing and coordinating site preparation

  • Developing and implementing test plans

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Bachelors and three (3) years or more experience; Masters and three (1) years or more experience; High School diploma and seven (7) years or more experience
  • Prior experience installing and configuring new technology in a Cross Domain (CD) environment
  • Familiarity with or experience with Supply Chain Management activities and processes
  • Familiarity with CD infrastructure and operational environment

 

CLEARANCE:

 

  • Must have an active Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.

 

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

 

  • 3-5 years of experience in supporting networking, storage and system design
  • Experience managing multiple IT integration projects 
  • Understanding of LINUX/UNIX/Windows OS release and version control
  • Strong customer focus and proven ability to manage and help shape customer
  • Strong communication skills to interact with customers, management personnel, and team members, including documentation and writing skills
  • Organizational skills to balance and prioritize work in a dynamic work environment, and persistence to follow-through on tasks in the face of obstacles
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-faceted team, and leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnel
  • Experience with MS Visio desired but not required
