SAIC is seeking experienced professionals to join the National Security Group (NSG).  NSG provides specialized program management, engineering, analysis and operations support to a variety of Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) customers. We support the generation after next of national security-related systems based in space, in the air and on the ground.

 

NSG has an opening for a Ground System Architect to provide systems engineering and technical advisory services to a rapidly expanding Government Intelligence Community (IC) customer. The customer is developing next-generation of space and ground systems architectures, hardware and software solutions.

 

The Ground System Architect supports the SPO in the technical capability planning to acquire ground systems that advance the NRO’s space resiliency posture.  The Ground System Architect is an individual contributor and member of a team of SMEs that work to develop highly-tailorable DODAF architecture views to convey the operational, functional, and technical system designs.  Specifically, the Ground System Architect: 

  • Serves as the SPO representative technical expert in developing architecture artifacts that convey graphical understanding of the ground system functions, designs and operation

  • Coordinate with technical domain SMEs to gather understanding of the systems and interfaces necessary to satisfy mission requirements

  • Coordinates with technical domain SMEs to develop architecture views for each mission capability area

  • Develops and present briefings to engineering boards to guide the SPO through the engineering and acquisition trade space

  • Supports COTRs and Developers refine understanding and designs


Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in engineering, science, or related disciplines
  • 9 or more years of related experience with a Bachelor degree or 7 or more years of related experience with a Master degree
  • Exceptional communication and coordination skills
  • Expert in DODAF and other similar architecture frameworks
  • Expert in Microsoft Visio
  • Proven experience in development of architectures at the implementation detail level
