  • Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs application software. 
  • Conducts analysis and collaborates with subject matter experts in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for information storage, processing, presentation, manipulation, display, or reporting. 
  • End product may be special use, customized, or commercial software. 
  • Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops autonomous services, desktop applications, web applications, scripts, and utility programs. 
  • Ensures software standards are met. (It should be understood that this is not intended to be a detailed nor comprehensive description of any individual employee's job content. Managers set the specific duties and responsibilities for each employee).
  •  Limited use and/or application of technical principles, theories, and concepts. 
  • Receives assignments in the form of speciffic tasks for the work to be completed. 
  • Work is reviewed by management to measure meeting objectives and schedules.
PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Develops solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. 

FREEDOM TO ACT: Work is closely supervised. Follows specific, detailed instructions.

 IMPACT: Contributes to completion of routine technical tasks. Failure to achieve results can normally be overcome without serious effect on schedules and programs 

LIASON: Contacts are primarily with immediate supervisor, project leaders, and other professionals in the group.

 

Description of Duties: 

·        Design, develop, test, deploy, and support full stack software applications as part of a cross-functional Agile team 

·        Apply first principles design to re-imagine and develop game-changing user experiences 

·        Design and implement enterprise-grade software solutions, understand system and software fault tolerance.

·        Design and implement software systems, understand system/software quality attributes, understand how to incorporate non-functional requirements into software system design.

·        Work with data scientists to design and develop analytic toolchains 

·        Work with cyber security engineers to design and develop next-generation cyber tools.

 


Qualifications


Required Education, Experience, & Skills 

·        BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related field 

·        0-2 years' experience in testing, software development, quality assurance, and troubleshooting 

·        Ability to obtain related technical certifications 

·        Strong written and verbal communication skills 

·        Experience working in a collaborative team environment. 

·        Reporting experience using the Microsoft Tool Suite: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc. 

 

Desired Experience:

  • Web Development (front end): HTML 5, CSS, JavaScript, React JS (function components, hooks, etc.), Blueprint JS.
  • Web Development (back end): JavaScript, Node.js, Moleculer microservices framework.
  • Service Development (back end): JavaScript, Node.js, Moleculer microservices framework, PostgreSQL, Java services (not applications), Spring Boot.
  • Enterprise Service Integration: Kafka, NiFi, GraphQL, REST.

 

Required Clearance 

·        Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust
