SAIC is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Cloud Automation Engineering expert to support various programs and strategic initiatives within the company, including internal investment projects (IR&D) and external customer support.

The selected candidate will be an expert in all aspects of Cloud Automation, Scripting and Development who readily adapts to support a variety of challenging technical requirements in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

The Senior Cloud Automation Engineer will maintain technical expertise, relevant industry standards and best practices in cloud computing and virtualization technologies such as cloud service provider architecture, design, and configuration; cloud deployment models including public, community, private, and hybrid; cloud service delivery models including infrastructure-, platform-, and software-as-a-service; security; automation; hypervisors; containers; virtual compute, storage, and networks; virtual infrastructure management; self-provisioning; scaling and life-cycle management.

Responsibilities include:
- Lead ongoing governance modernization efforts, including policy, security, compliance, and change management.
- Champion infrastructure automation initiatives throughout the full life cycle, addressing the significant complexity and scale challenges inherent to next-generation technologies.
- Leverage Cloud, DevOps, DevSecOps, AIOps, and containerization expertise to design, build, and deliver modernized infrastructure via scripting, workflows, and automation (i.e., Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)).
- Develop automation scripts for efficient deployment and operations of cloud and virtualization systems.
- Develop and conducts testing of cloud and virtualization systems.
- Automate configuration management, including modernization of network and systems administration functions (e.g., monitoring, logs, patching, updates).

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 14 years experience or equivalent
Minimum of 4+ years of relevant work experience with a concentration in automation design and implementation, and Cloud architecture
Minimum of 2+ years of relevant work experience with Azure Cloud Services
Must have strong "Infrastructure as Code" skills with the mind set of automate everything
Must have experience with process automation scripting using Windows PowerShell, Shell scripts, Python, or other similar languages
Experience with one or more of the programming languages C#, Java, Javascript, Python
Good understanding of Cloud Security and Federal Compliance standards, such as FISMA and FedRAMP
Experience developing automation that use WS-federation, OAuth, or SAML-P endpoints
Experiencing managing automation artifacts using version control using GIT or other tools.
Experience working projects that use CI/CD and streamlined DevSecOps workflows (Jenkins/Azure DevOps, TFS or equivalent) and automated testing
Experience with Linux and/or Windows Operating Systems
Experience in creating automation artifacts for the provided Cloud Architecture with networking, cloud services.

Desired Qualifications
Prior software development experience, database experience
Experience/Knowledge of Azure services, including Azure Active Directory, Azure Managed Service Identity, Azure Functions, Azure Resource Manager (ARM), Azure Monitor, Azure Security Center, Azure Sentinel.
Experience developing Azure Policies, Conditional Access Policies
Experience with Ansible, (or Puppet, Chef, Salt), Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes.
Experience operating and managing Azure cloud-based production environments including Web Apps, VMs, and databases.

Additional Requirements, Certifications, etc.
Azure Developer or Azure Architect Certification required
Azure Security Engineer and or Azure DevOps certification desired
AWS Certification is a plus

Other Requirements:
US Citizenship is required
Able to obtain up to a Top Secret level DoD clearance upon request
Location: 100% telework with up to 25% travel.
