This is a F5 Load Balance Senior/SME position for the network engineering team within the Vanguard Network Engineering and Design (NED) engineering office, providing f5 network engineering expertise for a Global LAN/WAN enterprise. The Candidate for this position must have an understanding of load balancing strategies/ techniques. A good understanding of TACACS+, RADIUS, 802.1x, EAP, EAPOL protocols and the ability to perform and analyze packet captures to assist in identifying issues and recommend solutions. The candidate must be capable of planning and leading the testing, implementation of an f5 load balanced solution to support a global deployment of 802.1x in a Cisco router and switch-based network. The candidate must be capable of evaluating performance results, performing risk assessments, and recommending changes affecting implementation. The position directly supports DoS on-site to provide network engineering services to over 100,000 customers globally.
Works directly with the customer to build, design, test and deploy an f5 solution supporting Cisco routers/switches.
Develop and deploy an f5 load balance engineering solutions in compliance with Enterprise Network Standards Working Group architecture standards.
Collaborate with technical SMEs on load balance solutions and participate in technical working groups
Participate in peer review of load balance network configuration change requests prior to deployment.
Implementation of configuration changes.
Documenting network infrastructure components, drawings.
Assist in developing and documenting procedures and processes.
Understand and manage Virtual Server (VIP)
Understand and manage Device Node and Pool
Understand and manage Persistence Profile
Understand and manage Health Monitor
Develop and implement RADIUS and TACACS+ health monitoring for Cisco ISE service nodes.
Setup Device Group, Active and Standby F5LTM pair, Configuration Sync
Setup interfaces (Internal, External, Management, HA/HeartBeat)
Temporarily enable and disable Virtual Server, Pool, Node to redirect AAA requests
Configure Administrator login with AAA/TACACS+ and SecurID One Time Password
Manage BIG-IP on both VM and Viprion
Bachelor degree in a computer science/computer engineering related discipline
10+ years IT security/network engineering support experience (Engineering, Tier II, Tier III, network infrastructure implementation and maintenance)
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess a US “TOP SECRET” security clearance, Secret clearance with upgrade to Top Secret is acceptable.
F5 Technology Specialist or F5 Certified BIP-IP Administrator or Solution Expert Level Certification
Experience with iRule development
Experience with design and implementation of load balancing for Cisco ISE services and 802.1x Network Access Control
Good understanding of following protocols: TACACS+, RADIUS, 802.1x, EAP, EAPOL,
Understanding of PKI and Certificates
