SAIC is seeking Senior Software Engineers to support the Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station (CMAFS) in its efforts to protect North America, by performing a variety of operations, maintenance, and sustainment tasks at customer and field locations 24/7. This position is contingent upon award of contract.
The NISSC II effort establishes requirements for OM&S that support classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability in organizational work centers at Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station (CMAFS), Peterson Air Force Base (PAFB), Colorado; Offutt AFB (OAFB), Nebraska; Vandenberg AFB (VAFB), California; and other sites, worldwide. This specific position will have a place of performance in Colorado Springs.
The qualified candidate’s duties range from on-the ground technician support to management of technical teams overseeing the hardware engineering teams. Must conduct technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements IAW specific customer specifications, troubleshoot technical problems and issues, determines technical solution IAW product and customer specifications, and recommend courses of actions to customer representatives. Assess product needs IAW customer specifications.
Performing software engineering as part of a cross functional agile team (CFAT) of nominally 6 people
Using a Test-Driven Development (TDD) philosophy, he/she will create and update software in C++, Java, scripts, and other languages on occasion to implement required changes to the programs that comprise the NISSC II software baseline using a Software Factory development environment
Target applications exist in both Windows and Unix/Linux based environments
Will take daily tasking direction from a Scrum Master, and works with cyber, systems, test and other engineering professionals on nominally 3-month increment/2 week coding sprints to deliver no-fail mission software to the integration environment
Support testing of software products in a controlled environment
Write and execute scripts to support unit and system level testing.
Works with the customer to sell off requirements in a formal environment
Secret clearance required, with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI
May be required to meet DoD 8570 certification eligibility requirements within the first 3 months of employment depending on specific duties
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and three (3) years or more experience. Six years of experience, or four years’ experience and an associate’s degree, can substitute for a bachelor’s degree
2 years of general software engineering experience in a high-level language
Domain knowledge in Missile Warning or Missile Defense
C++ and Java experience
Agile development (Scrum or Kanban) experience
Experience in automated test development environments or Test Driven Development methodology
Secure coding experience/Static Code analysis resolution
Basic network design/understanding
Familiarity with military customs and courtesies
