Summary:

 

Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) is the center of technical excellence for developing, acquiring, fielding, and sustaining military space systems.  SAIC supports SMC’s mission and is currently looking for System Architect to conduct research, analysis, planning, engineering, and valuation activities for the Production Corps at SMC. Tasks will include independently identify high-risk areas associated with development and production of space systems.  Research shall establish benefits, impacts, and risks associated with technical decisions in order to reduce, mitigate, and avoid negative impacts to the Mission Area programs as well as the associated users and stakeholders with a focus on process and integration improvement.  This position is located at El Segundo, CA.

    

Job Specific Responsibilities:

  • Provides enterprise architecture expertise to translate an enterprise’s strategy into a future enterprise architecture (EA) and a transition plan (i.e. roadmap) to achieve that future state
  • Researches and advises on the selection of technologies to include within the EA.

  • Designs, develops, and maintains current and future views and data describing the enterprise architecture.    

  • Provides analyses of potential changes to the EA

  • Conducts reviews and analyses of architectures to ensure compliance with EA policy.

  • Works on unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious.    

  • Provides oversight for the development and maintenance of quality programs, systems, processes and procedures to ensure EA policy compliance or to improve the EA

  • May lead and direct the work of others. 



Qualifications

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors (STEM) and fourteen (14) years or more of related experience or Masters and twelve (12) years or more of related experience
  • Clearance level: DoD Secret

  • Has experience and expertise in the application of one or more common EA frameworks, such as FEAC, TOGAF, or DoDAF, as well as with common EA tools

  • Participated with senior managers to establish plans and objectives

  • Ability to recommend/make decisions on administrative or project work matters and ensures effective achievement of program, project, or organizational objectives

Desired Qualifications:

  • Masters (STEM)
  • INCOSE Certification
  • Work proficiently on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious
  • Acquisition Experience
  • Model-Based Systems Engineering Experience
