Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) is the center of technical excellence for developing, acquiring, fielding, and sustaining military space systems. SAIC supports SMC’s mission and is currently looking for Project Managers to assist in managing RDT&E activities for the Production Corps at SMC. Tasks will include independently identify high-risk areas associated with development and production of space systems. Individuals shall establish benefits, impacts, and risks associated with technical decisions in order to reduce, mitigate, and avoid negative impacts to the Mission Area programs as well as the associated users and stakeholders with a focus on process and integration improvement. This position is located at El Segundo, CA.
Job Specific Responsibilities:
Manage, retain, replace, and assign capable and qualified personnel in a manner that meets all expressed contractual requirements with no observable degradation of services or impacts to mission requirements.
Research, develop, prepare, compile, and submit deliverables and CDRLs on time, addressing all data contents, fields, and specified instructions adequately
Support technical planning, scheduling, and documentation of program goals and objectives
Support projects by monitoring and assessing activities across SMC and all mission areas, providing recommendations to the Production Corps.
Provide insight and assessment of emerging technology developments across all space/ground system disciplines
Evaluate and assess ongoing programs across the Production Corps
Respond to tasks, questions, and inquiries from the government by providing initial written acknowledgement
Works on unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious.
May lead and direct the work of others
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Twenty (20) years or more of applicable research experience
DoD Secret required; TS/SCI clearance highly desired
Participated with senior managers to establish plans and objectives
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to recommend/make decisions on administrative or project work matters and ensures effective achievement of program, project, or organizational objectives
