Description

SAIC is seeking an Aerospace Systems Engineer to join our team. SAIC provides specialized engineering, analysis and operations support to a variety of Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) customers. We support the development of generation after next national security-related systems based in space, in the air and on the ground.


SAIC has an opening for an engineer to provide systems engineering and technical advisory services to an IC research and development (R&D) customer. 


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Provide technical review and assessment of RF signal technologies and theoretical concepts of signal characteristics

- Advise on issues of feasibility and applicability of relevant new technologies to future satellite architectures, spacecraft concepts, and capabilities

- Analyze alternatives to optimize performance and improve understanding of systems architecture and components

- Prepare deliverables that include collection data, gap analyses, utilization analyses, statistical and forecasting analyses, presentations, written reports and recommendations

- Provide technical support to acquisition, source selection and programmatic processes, including developing acquisition support documents, conducting technical evaluation, verification, and gap analyses

- Develop documents and briefings to communicate work or study status, brief government and industry as required

- Provide technical support to customer activities



Qualifications

- Must have an active TS/SCI with poly

- Bachelors’ degree with minimum of 5 years of relevant experience 

- Technical understanding of systems engineering and integration of satellite systems and subsystems

- Deep mathematical- and theoretical-based analytical ability of RF signal detection and characterization

- Understanding of waveform characteristics that enable attributes such as Low Probability of Intercept, Low Probability of Detection, and Low Probability of Exploitation

- Experience performing parametric and statistical analysis of specialized data sets

- Familiarity with Microsoft Office

- Problem-solving and analytical skills

- Communication skills to support written deliverables, group discussion and oral presentations


Desired Qualifications:


- Experience with operational signals intelligence or special communications within the DoD or Intelligence Community

- Demonstrated knowledge of high data rate, wideband secure, real-time communications

- In-depth knowledge, understanding, and expertise with information theory and discovery/detection theory with application to hidden information

- Familiarity with intelligence organizations, disciplines, systems and processes

- Demonstrated understanding of the intelligence mission
