SAIC is searching for candidates to join a team of engineers supporting the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) integrating element for the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) within the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The successful candidate will perform systems engineering activities and subject matter expertise in support of C2BMC development engineering efforts.
Participate in reviews and assessments of C2BMC engineering products.
Prepare C2BMC engineering products and collaborate with stakeholders as part of the engineering objective documentation and analysis process.
Provide technical input to engineering meetings, present product development updates, analysis, and failure review summaries.
Provide input on measures used to validate sensor models, evaluate test cases to ensure performance adequately assessed, and help interpret test results to identify problems and impacts to overall planning capability.
This position requires a BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related technical degree and 8+ years of related experience.
Technical knowledge of C2BMC system configuration and functionality.
Sensor/Radar expertise to support the BMD C2BMC Planner Engineering effort focused on model validation to assess system capabilities and limitations.
Knowledge of BMDS planning models and simulations that support Deliberate Planning (24-36 months before a battle), Crisis Action Planning (hours or days before an attack, based on updated information), and Dynamic Planning (near real-time agility for changing situations).
Support the development of critical system engineering and integration processes.
Solid understanding and practical experience formulating technical processes (systems engineering, operational readiness and risk management) for large, complex programs
Solid technical writing and presentation development capability
Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
MS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics
Familiarity with MDA Acquisition Systems Engineering and Acquisition Management procedures
Experience with engineering tools such as Python, Visual Basic, MATLAB, DOORS, etc.
