Description
SAIC is seeking a Spacecraft Systems Engineer to join the National Security Customer Group (NSCG) in our Chantilly, VA office. NSCG provides specialized engineering, analysis, and operations support to a variety of US Government (USG) customers. We support the generation after next of national security-related systems based in space, in the air, and on the ground.
The NSCG has an opening for an engineer to provide systems engineering and technical advisory services to an IC research and development (R&D) customer. The customer is developing the next generation hardware, software, and architectural solutions for the IC. Position provides smallsat/cubesat technology demonstration lifecycle support in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provide technical support to plan and execute spacecraft acquisition, development, integration and test (I&T), verification and validation (V&V), launch, and on-orbit demonstration operations
Provide technical review and assessment of program development and readiness activities
Provide technical review and assessment of spacecraft technologies, concepts, and systems
Review, monitor, and track requirements, interface control documents, test plans, and reporting
Develop documents and briefings to communicate program/project status; brief customer and industry as required
Provide acquisition support to include programmatics (budgets, schedules), contracts (SOWs, CDRLs, RFPs), and source selection efforts as needed
Qualifications
- Current TS/SCI clearance w/Poly
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience
- Nine (9) or more years relevant engineering and/or project management experience
- Experience in spacecraft bus and subsystem engineering, development, I&T, V&T, launch and/or operations
- Technical experience with spacecraft bus systems such as power, attitude determination and control, guidance navigation and control, and propulsion systems
- Strong interpersonal skills with effective technical writing and briefing skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and energetic setting
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications
