Description

The SME III will support the FAA Flight Standards Leadership Enhancement and Development (LEAD) Program. The LEADS program is a national multi-level program developed to prepare future FAA leaders with the leadership skills and competencies needed to be successful in a Flight Standards leadership role. A Flight Standards specific program including the topics of organizational health, mutual learning, and change management. A learning program incorporating traditional instructor led lessons, virtual lessons, a team project, experiential opportunities (shadowing and temporary assignment), and self-directed learning. The SME III shall support development of the following.


The SME III shall support development of the following:
  • Create the infrastructure for compiling and analyzing data needed to Project Manage the LEADS program
  • Document the process, including report frequencies and infrastructure required to manage the LEADS program
Job Description:


Applies knowledge in a technical field with proficiency in relevant engineering principles and practices. Implements solutions to difficult problems, generates concepts as evidenced by product or process improvement, uses FAA engineering/scientific tools to integrate requirements and solve technical problems. Utilizes tools, techniques, processes and/or facilities such as state-of-

the-art simulation environments, laboratories, and test facilities. Participates in engineering team activities in a specialized engineering or technology subject area. Contributes to the technical planning process and provides technical guidance.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications:


Master’s Degree in Engineering, Science, or other related field and 10 years of experience in performing the above duties or aviation-related experience. Master’s Degree may be waived with 12 years of experience in performing the above duties or aviation-related experience and a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, or other related field.
