SAIC is seeking a Chief Logistics SME to support an Army intelligence services and solutions contract.  This position is contingent on contract award and will be located in Northern Virginia. 

The Chief Logistics SME will serve as SAIC’s lead subject matter expert and task lead for all logistics, sustainment and materiel procurement work in support of large, complex SAIC Program. Will advise both the SAIC Program Manager and Army customer on all aspects of life cycle sustainment, logistics, and materiel procurement integration into a wide array of technical and analytical projects. Responsible for leading and managing process and quality controls for the efficient procurement of materiel (HW and SW), flow of goods, services and information between point of origin through customer placement in order to meet customer requirements. Must have demonstrated expertise in life cycle planning, scheduling, and management across a complex technical solutions and services portfolio, as well as expert level experience in efficient movement of material from receiving or the warehouse to the end user. Develops material requirements and scheduling requirements from end user specifications and production schedules and plans and manages material movement with purchasing, warehouse, and production. Develops capability and facility build-out plans and assessments. Ensures the execution and continuous improvement of standard logistic processes. Logistics functions encompass maintenance, supply, transportation and logistics plans. Inherently included as logistics tasks are program formulation, policy planning, coordination, inspection, integrated logistics processes, joint planning logistics, acquisition and wholesale logistics, product support, asset visibility, material management. Performs life cycle maintenance and integrated product support (IPS).



• Bachelor’s degree
• 20+ years’ experience in Army Logistics with demonstrated capabilities in managing complex programs with total value of $100M or greater
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Army National Guard’s Supply and Maintenance Programs
• General understanding of Army’s Logistics Enterprises employed by the ARNG to include GCSS-A, LMP and DPAS
• Demonstrated leadership and management experience of global logistics & sustainment operations
• Knowledge of the Army Acquisition Process for End Items and procurement of repair parts
• Experience in warehouse operations: inventory management; shipping and receiving; transportation of real property both CONUS and OCONUS
• Experience in compliance with federal, state, DoD and local warehousing, material handling and shipping requirements
• Experience in conducting inventory and Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) accountability procedures IAW current US Army policies. (I think we can leave this in for now)

Desired qualifications:
• Knowledge of Army Training Management and Training Development IAW TRADOC Regulations
• 5+ years with materiel procurement as purchaser or equivalent materiel processing specialist/manager
• Former ARNG DOL (Directorate of Logistics) for a State
• Former USPFO for a State
• Former Active Component Logistician that served as a Senior Advisor to State National Guard

  • Must have an active Secret clearance
  • Top Secret clearance is preferred
  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI
