SAIC is hiring a Linux System Administrator to join our team at Fort Bragg, NC !


 

POSITION SUMMARY:


We have a career opening for a Linux/RedHat System Administrator at Fort Bragg, NC. The System Administrator is responsible for installing, configuring, and administrating Linux/Redhat based servers in support of business processing requirements.  Installs, upgrades, and patches operating systems and complex software packages.  Schedules installations and upgrades in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.  Conducts routine software audits of Linux/Redhat based servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.  Must be a self-starter; capable of working independently, under limited direction, and in a team environment.


 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


The successful candidate must be able to do the following:


  • Create, execute and report on testing and implementation plans.

  • Administer Linux/Redhat in an enterprise environment

  • Assist primary service subject matter expert in all Linux/Redhat based activities

  • Harden/STIG Linux/Redhat operating systems in accordance with DISA guidelines

  • Create, execute and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for Enterprise Services

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Capable of resolving complex issues

  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills

  • Capable of multi-tasking

  • Must be a self-starter; capable of working independently, under limited direction, and in team environments


Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

 

Bachleors and three (3) years or more experience; Masters and 1 year related experience; High School diploma and seven (7) years related experience

 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 3+ years as a Linux Systems Administrator.

  • Experience maintaining Linux/Redhat OS platforms.

 

CERTIFICATION:

  • Level II DoD 8570 certification: Comptia Security+ CE etc

 

CLEARANCE:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an active SECRET clearance

 

 

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarization with McAfee EPO products as it affects servers

  • ITIL v3 Foundations or higher certification

  • COMPTIA Linux+ certification
