Duties and responsibilities
Summary:
SAIC is currently looking for Project Engineers to support launch system SE&I activities for the Launch Enterprise (ECL) at SMC. This position is located at El Segundo, CA. Key aspects of this oversight will include the following:
Test & Integration
Launch Vehicle, Payload and Launch Site Integration
Day of Launch Activities
Launch Mission Assurance activities, in cooperation with FFRDC
Launch Integration Scheduling
Coordination with launch vehicle providers, satellite developers, associate contractors, FFRDC, and launch program office teams
Job Specific Responsibilities:
Ensure designs fully support requirements and are consistent with customer budget, schedule, risk profile and organizational/system constraints
Translates the client’s business requirements into specific systems, applications or process designs for complex solutions and integrating architectures. May include analysis of transition planning, information requirements, and may develop architecture baselines. Assists with and leads development of integration, migration plans/schedules. Acts as an advocate for the client as the ultimate authority on the architecture designed to address client business problems. Supports business process improvements or systems analysis for missions, systems, and fiscal requirement.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelors (STEM) and eight (8) years or more of related experience in the following areas:
Experience involving NSSL launches or experience involving launch vehicles used in NSSL launches or similar category with other federal agencies such as NASA, NOAA, NSA, etc.
Experience involving launch vehicles used in NSSL launches or similar category with commercial launches, or experience involving launch vehicles used orbital launches other than those described in 1 above.
Experience involving ballistic missile launches, launch process and operations experience, mission integration experience, experience involving ground systems, experience involving other than launch vehicle propulsion comparable to launch propulsion.
An understanding of the launch services contract requirements and Launch Systems Integration Contractor (LSIC) service contract requirements.
Knowledge of US Space Force (USSF) Engineering Launch Support System (ELSS) architecture and components, including the Launch Vehicle Launch Support Centers (LVLSC) at the launch bases.
Participated with senior managers to establish plans and objectives
Ability to recommend/make decisions on administrative or project work matters and ensures effective achievement of program, project, or organizational objectives.
