SAIC is currently looking for Project Integration Engineers to join our amazing team! 

 

Responsibilities will be to provide management and oversight of SE&I activities for the Launch Enterprise (ECL) at SMC. This position is located at El Segundo, CA. Key aspects of this oversight will include the following:

Requirements Validation
Test & Integration
Launch Vehicle, Payload and Launch Site Integration
Day of Launch Activities
Launch Mission Assurance activities, in cooperation with FFRDC
Launch Integration Scheduling
Coordination with launch providers, satellite developers, associate contractors, FFRDC, and launch program office teams

 

Job Specific Responsibilities:

  • Work with USG Action Officers to integrate and assess ECL Enterprise Master Schedule (EMS) data, or data from other government used scheduling tools/programs as required
  • Evaluate the Space Launch Manifest (SLM), identifying potential scheduling conflicts (launch dates, facilities, rehearsals, etc.) and provide an assessment
  • Assemble an ECL Launch Manifest using the Launch Information Support Network (LISN)
  • Update the Space Launch Manifest (SLM) resident on the LISN, or equivalent (includes ECL and Office of Space Launch (OSL) missions)
  • Coordinate and support ECL involvement in manifest meetings, e.g. as the Current Launch Schedule Review Board and Senior Management Review, as required
  • Update & maintain the ECL Launch Manifest Operating Instruction (LMOI) as required
  • Evaluate the current ECL risk management process for adherence to compliance and guidance documents listed in the ECL Risk Management Plan
  • Provide assistance to the Government appointed risk leads in maintaining the Risk Management process
  • Document the SMC/ECL risk management process, and submit plans for approval 
  • Update the SMC/ECL Risk Management Plan annually
  • Develop a monthly consolidated NSSL risk status report for the NSSL Program Manager and SMC/ECL Chief Engineer
  • Provide briefing packages, in conjunction with USG appointed AF risk leads, for the monthly SMC/ECL Risk Management Working Group (RWG) and the monthly SMC/ECL Risk Management Board (RMB)
  • Act as the local (SMC/ECL) risk database administrator
  • Ensure all risks in the tool are kept up to date, in accordance with Government RMB decisions
  • Provide risk management tools to enhance the Government risk management process

 

Qualifications

Required Experience and Education

Secret Clearance
Bachelor degree in Mechanical/Aerospace engineering or Bachelor degree in related STEM field with eight (8) years experience in the following relevant areas:
Experience involving NSSL launches or experience involving launch vehicles used in NSSL launches or similar category with other federal agencies such as NASA, NOAA, NSA, etc.
Experience involving launch vehicles used in NSSL launches or similar category with commercial launches, or experience involving launch vehicles used orbital launches other than those described in 1 above.
Experience involving ballistic missile launches, launch process and operations experience, mission integration experience, experience involving ground systems, experience involving other than launch vehicle propulsion comparable to launch propulsion.
Participated with senior managers to establish plans and objectives
Ability to recommend/make decisions on administrative or project work matters and ensures effective achievement of program, project, or organizational objectives.
Possess solid working knowledge of launch complex systems and familiarity with launch program requirements.
