SAIC is hiring a Remote ServiceNow Platform Engineer Principal to facilitate modernization of Army IT delivery while working from home.






SAIC has excellent opportunities for ServiceNow Platform Engineer to directly impact modernization of Army IT delivery. Applicants will work in a dynamic team environment and will be responsible for working with the Army customers, users, and commercial partners to capture and negotiate requirements, user stories and operations concepts and then develop and field solutions to directly enhance the end user experience.


Applicant will function as a ServiceNow Subject Matter Expert (SME) to develop and deploy an enterprise level IT and Service Management (ITSM) system based on the SerivceNow platform. Will work closely with Platform/OS and Software Engineers, System Testers, and Project Managers to build the ITSM platform from the ground up. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written are required for customer interactions. Strong initiative, teamwork and problem solving skills are also required.





  • Lead the engineering, development, testing and deployment of an enterprise-scale ITSM system based on the ServiceNow platform
  • Work with the customer, users, and other supporting engineers to effectively analyze user requirements, user stories, and operations concepts and apply IT solutions to identified issues
  • Apply knowledge of DevSecOps system development practices to guide build and deployment of ITSM system
  • Create and/or update all documentation for system design, including change instruments
  • Assist in appropriate policy development to manage an extensive network operation using ITIL and ITSM best practices
  • Leads systems architecture design and integration efforts with other systems supporting the end to end delivery of services from the device to the cloud
  • Provides Tier III/IV level expertise post implementation
  • Develops run books, help articles, and other documentation to assist other technicians for continuity
  • Communicates inward to the organization and outward to customer contacts
  • Work effectively in a team setting to collaborate around ideas and bring them to reality



  • Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience; degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or similar degree, or related industry experience
  • 5+ years experience with ServiceNow
  • ITIL v3 Practitioner certification or higher required prior to starting
  • Experience building ServiceNow enterprise workflows, reports, and portal development
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, especially with other organizations
  • Experience integrating third party tools with ServiceNow
  • Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting 



  • Must be a US Citizen and have an active secret clearance.



  • ServiceNow Admin certification required prior to starting



  • ITIL v3 Practitioner certification or higher
  • Leadership skills
    Demonstrated experience across various areas of the systems engineering lifecycle including requirement analysis, design, and documentation
    Expert knowledge of ITIL processes
    Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITIL workflow toolsets
    Familiarity with Agile and DevSecOps system development practices
    Experience working within Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)
