Position Summary


SAIC is seeking a Project Coordinator to join our account team supporting a major state & local government customer. The Project Coordinator provides program coordination and control support for planning, tracking, analysis, and reporting on multiple projects of varying contract type, size, complexity, and level of risk. This individual will have a complete understanding and wide application of principles, concepts, practices and standards in Project Management and full knowledge of industry practices. This position requires significant interface with project managers, senior technical staff, as well as other functional organizations including contracts, finance, accounts receivable, procurement, subcontract management, etc.  Additionally, this individual supports the PMs as needed for coordination, analysis, and project schedule development. 


Qualifications

Required Education and Experience


The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience as a Project Coordinator. Experience with state & local government customers is a strong plus.

 
  • This position requires a working knowledge of Government Contracting, and the ability to complete assignments of moderate complexity on time within a fast paced environment and the ability to learn new processes and tools.
  • Working knowledge of issue and risk management and mitigation planning.
  • Reports detailed information, analyzes data in support of project cost/schedule status and presents briefings to managers and customers as required.
  • Meet deadlines for submissions and provide ongoing status.
  • Experience supporting project scheduling and managing projects.
  • Must be analytical, possess excellent communication, presentation skills and have the ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Bachelors and three (3) years or more of related experience; Masters and one year of related experience. May consider a high school education and 4 years of additional experience in lieu of a degree. 
  • Strong skills with: MS Office products, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Project Server, and Microsoft SharePoint
  • Must have experience supporting projects 
Desired Skills: 
  • Prior experience working with ServiceNow project scheduling function preferred
  • Prior experience working with or for a Commonwealth of VA Agency or VITA desired.
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired
  • Prior experience working in or supporting a PMO
