SAIC is seeking a Safety Engineer to support our Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) customer. The successful candidate will contribute to technical implementation of air traffic systems and capabilities. Responsibilities will include interfacing with multiple stakeholders to understand, manage, and align respective objectives and requirements, foster collaboration, and facilitating course development and deployment.
Requirements and characteristics of a successful candidate include:
Provides a Senior Lead resource who has extensive knowledge, expertise, and experience with the ATO Safety Management System (SMS).
Performs work associated with the PMO safety objectives related to the full integration and continuous improvement of the ATO SMS requirements in FAA Order JO 1000.37 within the PMO.
Provides overall support for daily business, and ensure the implementation of goals and objectives for the PMO Safety Staff.
Serves as a critical thinker and planner that is able to execute multiple tasks with limited oversight.
Supports the development, review, and interpretation of integrated safety policy and safety guidance for the PMO.
Assists in coordinating activities to support the adherence of ATO SMS policy and guidance throughout the PMO.
Assists with the facilitation of safety-related audits and assessments to ensure that the PMO complies with ATO safety requirements.
Assists with the implementation and execution of activities and tasks that will enhance the safety culture within the PMO.
Maintains and updates the PMO Safety KSN site, the PMO Safety Lessons Learned Database, and PMO Voluntary Safety Reporting Programs Corrective Action Requests and Information Requests.
Possess excellent writing skills and attention to detail.
A BA/BS in a technical field, including but not limited to: engineering, math, instructional system design, computer science, decision science, management/computer information systems, or aviation/information technology.
Minimum of 10 years of experience including experience designing and developing training for adult learners.
Prior experience in successfully applying FAA Safety and Technical Training (AJI) requirements for FAA training development.
