JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsibilities may include conceptual thinking, designing and developing plans, processes, procedures, functional and data requirements analysis, system analysis, and documentation preparation for complex systems. Specialized in areas of all software development life cycle phases including: requirements gathering and analysis; designing solutions and databases; developing, testing, and implementing products; training users, demonstrating products; performing maintenance and responding to service requests for supported software. May be required to supervise less experienced engineers.


Could design, develop, document, test and debug application software. Conducts analysis and collaborates with subject matter experts in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for information storage, processing, presentation, manipulation, display, or reporting. End product may be special use, customized, or commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops autonomous services, desktop applications, web applications, scripts, and utility programs. Ensures software standards are met. 

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors degree in computer science or Bachelor Degree in STEM field.  Ten (10) years or more experience as software engineer, programmer, software developer or other related areas.

DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Advanced degree and experience in the National Space Security Launch area
