JOB DESCRIPTION: A challenging instructor position that equips military students with the knowledge and skills to perform operations, system configuration, system administration, network monitoring, troubleshooting, fault isolation, and restoration of the Naval Communication Systems including Integrated Shipboard Network System (ISNS), Automated Digital Network System (ADNS) K(V)2, and Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES). Responsible for preparing training materials and lab equipment for course delivery. This includes setting up and instructing both classroom and practical hands-on portions of the course, including learning activities and demonstrations. Implement and execute training courses using standardized Navy training practices and procedures. Develops, directs, plans and evaluates training programs or activities to meet external customer or internal employee learning objectives. Works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Plans schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
Formal military training and experience on the following:
Microsoft MCSA certified
DoD Information Assurance Workforce (IAWF)/Cyber Security Workforce (CSWF) IAT Level II
Formal instructor training, such as the Navy’s Basic Instructor Training (either NEC 805A or 9502) or a current industry standard trainer certification, such as Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) or CompTIA Certified Technical Trainer (CTT+).
Three (3) years instructor experience
Instruction of evening classes is occasionally required (typically less than 10% of the year).
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
BS and 6 years of experience - 4 additional years in lieu of degree
