SAIC is the sole provider of Systems and Software Assurance Services to the NASA Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) Program located in Fairmont, West Virginia.  At the NASA Katherine Johnson IV&V Facility, we support NASA's IV&V Program, delivering analysis and verification & validation of safety-critical and mission-critical software for a number of important NASA programs, including both human and robotic exploration as well as earth and space science collection platforms.


The successful candidate will support the Mission Protection Services (MPS) Threat Research Team (TRT) unit at NASA’s IV&V facility in Fairmont, WV.  The successful candidate will work independently as a member of a team in one or more of the NASA Mission projects or other cybersecurity program functional areas to develop, analyze, and incorporate threat research data into the Cybersecurity Based Risk Assessment (CBRA) tool(s), MPS assessments, and communicate results via various reporting methodologies. 


 This position requires the Intel analyst to utilize their threat research skills to conduct in-depth analyses on threats that may impact NASA missions/projects.  The ideal candidate will have the ability to think outside of the box and learn new skills related to the cybersecurity discipline  working in conjunction with their cybersecurity teammates.  Their work will assist in providing data to assist in creating strategies/plans to aid securing a NASA’s mission and Information systems/networks.  The threat research data will be utilized to secure End-to End (E2E) systems that span from ground systems to spacecraft (and everything in-between).  The position affords an awesome opportunity for a team player to enhance a world-class team and learn new skills and explore the world of space through a cyber-lens.


 The ideal candidate will be able to develop, conduct, analyze, and evaluate technical and all-source intelligence with specific emphasis on network operations and cyber warfare tactics, techniques, and procedures focused on the threat to networked weapons platforms and US and Mission information networks. The candidate should have the ability to independently analyze network events to determine the impact on current operations and conduct all-source research to determine advisory capability and intent.   


The ideal candidate will prepare assessments and cyber threat profiles of current events based on the sophisticated collection, research and analysis of classified and open source information. They will correlate threat data from various sources; develop and maintain analytical procedures to meet changing requirements and ensure maximum operations. They will collect data using a combination of standard intelligence methods and business processes and produce high-quality papers, presentations, recommendations, and findings for federal client. 



Qualifications

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in National Security and Intelligence or related degree
  • Exposure to or basic experience (1 year or less) in Intelligence gathering, analysis and understanding, and reporting threats to missions
  • Exposure to or basic experience 1 year or less) in conducting intel and cybersecurity analyses to end-to-end mission systems
  • Exposure to or basic experience (1 year or less) in assessing cybersecurity vulnerabilities and/or penetration testing
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance

  • TS (with SCI eligibility) highly preferred
  • Ability to understand/interpret network architecture models and cyber architecture models from project documentation, identify potential areas of threats, vulnerabilities or concerns
  • Ability to simulate real-life cyber or other attacks based on intel data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Critical thinking and problem solving
