This is a Senior/SME position for a Hybrid Data Center Security Network Engineer supporting the Vanguard 2.2.1 contract for the Department of State. The position shall apply expert level architecture, design and engineering knowledge to provide a truly global enterprise security solution to the DoS’s hybrid data center and network environment. The well qualified candidate will possess a mastery of Cisco Data Center and LAN/WAN security solutions to include: Cisco IOS, routers, switches, advanced firewalls, ISE, Stealwatch, and Tetration. The candidate must have strong experience and proven capabilities in developing and deploying next generation network security solutions focused on the concepts of Zero Trust, micro-segmentation, and Software Defined WAN (SD-WAN). The candidate must be capable of evaluating performance results, performing risk assessments, and recommending changes affecting hybrid data center and network transport architecture and design. The position directly supports DoS on-site to provide security network engineering services to over 100,000 customers globally.
Works directly with the DoS customer to architect, design, and build a global enterprise security solution for a hybrid data center and LAN/WAN environment.
Assist DoS in the development of global Network Security Architecture
Develop and deploy network security solutions in compliance with Enterprise Architecture standards.
Collaborate with technical SMEs on enterprise wide solutions, participate in technical working groups, and contribute to technical advisory boards.
Documenting network infrastructure components, drawings.
Assist in developing and documenting procedures and processes.
Expert experience with Cisco network platforms: routers, switches, advanced firewalls, ISE, Stealthwatch, and Tetration.
Solid understanding and experience with Cisco Tetration; ability to design and deploy Tetration in a hybrid data center environment to provide a holistic view of the architecture.
Experience with Cisco Data Center technologies; Security / Converged / Hyperconverged / Automation / AI/ Analytics.
Strong understanding of analyzing network traffic flows to identify and isolate network threats utilizing Cisco Stealthwatch.
Knowledge of SD-WAN.
Strong understanding of Cisco cloud security solutions.
Experience with developing and deploying perimeter security solutions in on-premise, cloud, and hybrid environments.
Experience implementing large enterprise/global network solutions.
Expert experience in network transport technologies and protocols.
Experience working directly with Government customer
Technical writing and documentation/diagram skills (MS Visio/MS Word/MS Excel)
Bachelor degree in a computer science/computer engineering related discipline
10+ years IT security/network engineering support experience
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess a US “TOP SECRET” security clearance, Secret clearance with upgrade to Top Secret is acceptable.
Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert – CCIE
Exert knowledge and hands on experience with one or more of the following: Cisco Tetration, Stealthwatch, or ISE
Experience with Cloud technologies, Microsoft Azure/Amazon Web Services
Masters or PhD in related IT field
Experience leading a small team of engineers (3-5)
Experience with Cisco network monitoring tools
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and eigtheen (18) years or more experience; Masters and sixteen (16) years or more experience; PhD or JD and fifteen years or more experience.
