SAIC is seeking a Facilities Planner-Cost Estimator, Project Manager in Crane, IN.  

 
JOB DESCRIPTION:
 

In this role as a Facilities Planner/Cost Estimator you will provide tactical facilities planning and cost estimating for the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division, Facilities Branch. You will sit on the tactical facility planning team and work with many different constituents including the Army Corp of Engineers and the Naval Civil Engineering Corp while interacting with our government customers on a daily basis. You will provide technical support and solutions to complex facility planning obstacles within a physical portfolio encompassing over 300 facility assets totaling over 3 million square feet.

 
JOB DUTIES:
  • Collects and develops tactical facilities project requirements  
  • Translates facility requirements into project scopes, conceptual designs, and cost estimates using parametric costing tools
  • Develops floor plans and site plans using computer aided-design (CAD) software  
  • Interacts with a multi-disciplined technical government customer base, development of planning and budgeting documents, and preparing computer generated presentations  
  • Develop office and/ or laboratory floor plans, layouts, and system furniture designs for a given facility project requirement 

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical degree and two (2) years related experience; Masters Degree and no related experience required
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret security clearance
  • Must have strong facilities/construction experience
  • Must have solid understanding of facility scope development and costing
  • Project management knowledge/experience required
  • Initiative and motivation to accomplish tasking with little oversight
  • Must possess excellent both verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office products
  • Must have familiarity/understanding of CAD drawings
  • Must be authorized to work in the US
  • Must be able to meet the security requirements in order to be considered for this position

Desired Qualifications

 
  • Project Management certification or PMP desired
  • Experience with Microsoft Project software
  • Experience with new construction and/or commercial building renovation
  • Experience drawing in AutoCAD
