Job Description


SAIC is seeking Video Technicians to support installation, operations, maintenance, repairs, and modification of equipment in support of the Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station (CMAFS) Video Systems Maintenance work center, by performing a variety of maintenance and technical support on products, such as equipment, integrated systems, and subsystems, and software at customer and field locations 24/7. 


The NISSC II effort establishes requirements for OM&S that support classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability in organizational work centers at Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station (CMAFS), Peterson Air Force Base (PAFB), Colorado; Offutt AFB (OAFB), Nebraska; Vandenberg AFB (VAFB), California; and other sites, worldwide.  This specific position will have a place of performance in Colorado Springs.


As a Video Technician of the Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station (CMAFS) Video Systems Maintenance work center, the candidate will be responsible for: 

  • Performing scheduled/unscheduled maintenance
  • Performing PMIs, corrosion control and safety inspections

  • Coordinating access to Mission Centers
  • Shifting documentation of all maintenance actions in support of the various missions at Cheyenne Mountain AFS. 

  • Video crew technicians will work on a 24X7 crew and are responsible for a variety of audio-visual components and systems for all CMAFS mission centers and Base Comm customers/systems.   

  • Performing television, imagery, video teleconferencing, and surveillance system equipment maintenance

  • Ensuring response time and completion of scheduled daily/weekly tasks

  • Identifying, troubleshooting, repairing, aligning, and documenting failed equipment and deficiencies

  • Coordinating Maintenance and access with Systems Center/Comm Focal Point/Help Desk

  • Performing Preventive Maintenance and Corrosion Control Inspections

  • Documenting training objectives including ancillary training (fire, HazMat Handling)

  • Preparing shift documentation (Shift Log/IMDS/REMEDY) inputs

  • Monitoring facility status and safety
  • Posting TO changes and document dry runs of Emergency Action Plans (EAP)

  • Monitoring and coordinating TMDE status; preparing turn-in of TMDE for calibration (packing/shipping)

  • Monitoring and maintaining tool and test equipment inventories

  • Maintaining facility security via strict access control



Required Technical Skills and Experience:  
  • Must know how to analyze and evaluate product performances. 
  • Know how to troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions to eliminate problems in minimum time.

  • Install upgrades and remove products ensuring coordinative engineering field change. 

  • Must have knowledge of electronic fundamentals and the ability to work with various tools.

  • Must have a background in hardware maintenance, various types of test equipment and operations.

  • Excellent communications skills are required to address/provide status to, document problems, and to interface with a broad range of internal and external customers.

  • Experience with Video Display System (VDS) and Crestron Programming is a plus.

  • Must possess Top Secret/SCI DoD clearance.
  • Bachelors and two (2) years or more experience; Masters and 0 years related experience.

  • 3-5 years of experience in the Video maintenance communications or electronics field.

  • Understanding of Communications infrastructure, circuit signaling and cryptographic equipment.

Desired Skills: 

  • Experience with supporting Command and Control environment is desired to include the Common Operational Picture (COP) and Agile Client

  • Experience with any of the following: VTC CODEC, VTC Control Systems, VTC Camera Systems, and VTC Microphone Systems
