SAIC is seeking Field Technicians to support installation, operations, maintenance, repairs, and modification of equipment in support of the Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station (CMAFS) Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) Work Center, by performing a variety of maintenance and technical support on products, such as equipment, integrated systems, and subsystems, and software at customer and field locations 24/7.
The NISSC II effort establishes requirements for OM&S that support classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability in organizational work centers at Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station (CMAFS), Peterson Air Force Base (PAFB), Colorado; Offutt AFB (OAFB), Nebraska; Vandenberg AFB (VAFB), California; and other sites, worldwide. This specific position will have a place of performance in Colorado Springs.
As a Field Technician of the Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station (CMAFS) Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) Work Center, the candidate will be responsible for:
Ensure work center is aware of and coordinates on all installations, changes, and removals of equipment; ensure all changes are documented and training is provided to work center personnel
Attend and represent work center at all relevant planning meetings
Coordinate and assist in scheduling all pre-, post-, and in-progress QC inspections of equipment installation/removal
Supervise and administer the work center Quality Control Program
Review CSRDs to ensure hardware requirements are properly addressed
Provide technical solution with cost and manpower estimates
PRIMARY DUTY: Ensure all installations, removals, moves, or additions are coordinated; ensure all changes are documented and training is provided; act as chief in his/her absence.
SECONDARY DUTY: Guidance/assistance to crew chiefs; QC, Review WOMS/EWOMS/S-Plans and provide comments.
Technical Skills and Background Experience Requirements:
Must have excellent technical and communications skills to effectively interface with internal and external customers at all levels
Must be able to work in a high visibility command and control environment, focused on 24/7 mission availability, and quickly respond to customer direction/requests
Familiarity with military customs and courtesies desired. Must be able to track and monitor multiple projects going on at once
Bachelors and two (2) years or more experience; Masters and 0 years related experience. In lieu of a degree, additional technical training equivalent to a technical associate degree and
5-7 years in telephone systems maintenance or a related field
